USS Valiant

We have retrieved our command crew and are headed towards Earth per orders of Admiral Th’keliss which took a good amount of juggling to accomplish. But we’re on our way and will be picking up a compliment of marines and intelligence personnel from the USS Pioneer to take them someplace.

That’s as much as I know right now. My verbal orders, after being retrieved from the freighter. I’ll receive sealed orders at Earth from a party known to me, according to the Admiral, which is pretty much par for the course since I believe this mission is the primary reason we’ve been equipped with a cloaking device on loan from the Romulan Star Empire. And an operator. Colonel Galen came along with It as an operator. I’m assured he’s a very experienced officer and was hand picked for this job.

That likely means he’s a member, or was at some point, of the Tal Shiar. I’ve heard rumors of another secret group that’s a spin off of the Tal Shiar called the Ren Reval, which linguists believe is a mythical creature that a god attempted to murder. The Ren Reval managed to hide within its own shadow, becoming a living shadow when its corporeal body was destroyed.

An interesting concept. And whichever the Colonel might be, we’ll be keeping an eye him. I’ll be ordering Lieutenant Gordon to deep a wary eye out. A lot of intelligence floats through Valiant so it’s best to be prudent.

I’m still reading through the reports from my officers on Avan’s colony. I’m issuing a number of citations and would mention them in dispatches if this wasn’t a clandestine mission. My XO Commander Rahl did exceptionally well and made some tough choices, maintained the cover and took over when I was called away to get my brief, and catch up with the Valiant. It’s been a mad minute and I expect things to continue.
