Captain’s log, USS Valiant. I’m back aboard the Valiant, obviously. Stealth runabout ride from Quatral Prime back to Empok Nor. Caught the USS Astrea Imprimatur via slip stream drive to rendezvous with the Adelaide, to pick up the command staff.
Lots going on, but this will addendum the Adelaide’s log. Dayna is wrapping up things there, I hope, and we’ve been tasked with a message by Fleet Intel to ferry a group of intel personnel and marines off the USS Pioneer, Commodore Malbrooke commanding) to what appears to be a hidden Nor class station in the badlands that the remnants of the Obsidian Order are using as a bolt hole. Months ago, Valiant picked up some stray signals while patrolling a region of the Badlands and Intel linked it to Cardassian vessels transiting the badlands to this Nor station, according to Tesh.
To help accomplish this ferry mission, the powers that be have arranged the loan of a Roman cloaking device and operator in the guise of a Colonel Galen. He’s obviously old school military and an intel officer for the current leading faction among the Romans, so we’ll have to curate just how much he gets access to.
But just as obviously, the President wants this relationship to move forward so that will color missions that we receive. Galen is capable, no doubt so we’ll have to see what comes from that.
Back to Quatral Prime. We stumbled into something strange there. Quatral Prime was hit with a biogenic weapon back in twenty three seventy three when the Maquis leader, Michael Eddington hit the planet attacked on behalf of the Maquis. The weapon made the planet uninhabitable by Cardassians and they were forced to vacate. In that vacuum, it appears someone brought in a colony of non-Cardassians to work it. While there we were notified by one Gil Divinis of the Fourth Order that we shouldn’t be. I foisted them off on another identity and didn’t hear more after that, but it’s going to bear running down. Soon as Amy is settled, we’ll work that down. I have a strong suspicion that the Colony is made up of more of the Federations penal inmates that are where they’re not supposed to be.
The colonists just seem to be trying to make a life for themselves on their own terms, but told us that the Cardassians, or at least Gil Divinis was taking a cut of their mining for allowing them to operate there. So, if the Ashen Hand dug up these colonists and organized the Colony on behalf of the Cardassians, does that mean there’s an offshoot branch up to no good? It makes sense they’d find someone to work the colony, but there wasn’t any updates to the latest Stellar Cartography chart reference. Maybe Tesh can run that down through diplomatic channels. She’s in Sol system, apparently so I’m expecting a personnel meeting when we get there.
Right now, all I know is our mission is to take the Pioneer personnel to this station, Breyet Nor. But there has to be something other than that going on…there almost always is.
