1,404 words; about a 7 minute read

Mission: Operation Kakori
Location: Crew Quarters, USS Valiant
Timeline: Right after Movie night (Possible MD007 on Pioneer.

The movie was over. Amy didn't want to end the evening. Just having been able to have someone to watch the movie with her, just truly resonated with her. She looked at Andrew, with a thoughtful expression in her eyes.

It was wonderful.

She leaned in and whispered to Andrew. "Care to come with me, back to my quarters? Besides your gear is still there. And perhaps you can help solve a mystery for me as well."

Andrew shifted in his seat. The folding chairs they'd come up with for the movie viewing were good, as far as folding chairs went but his posterior was on the verge of taking on a permanent shape consistent with that same seat. Smiling he said, "Yeah. I'd like that, Amy. And thanks for reminding me about my kit." He stood and picked up his snack containers and glass, then collected a few from around him as well as Amy's and took them to the replicator for recycling.

Glancing at her he looked around and raised his eyebrows, waiting for her to lead.

"You are welcome." Amy answered softly with a smile.

Tossing away her debris, Amy without a second thought, reached out to take Andrew's hand, walking to her quarters.

When the doors closed, and they were inside, Amy wrapped her arms around Andrew to give him an embrace.

"Glad you made it back safely." Amy murmured, looking up into his face.

Andrew wrapped his arms around her and kissed her her smile, welcoming her warmth and touch.

Eventually they broke and he said, "Me too. Not going to lie. It got a little hairy there a couple of times."

Amy nodded, "From what I've surmised from the reports, it got very troublesome, what with the Major coming in unconcious, Marley and Jayna..." she let that drift away into the air.

She drew Andrew to the bed, taking a seat there. Angling one knee to where Amy could face him.

"Were you hurt?" looking at Andrew for any signs of injuries.

"Nah," Andrew said, smiling at her, though he obligingly peeled off his uniform tunic and t-shirt. "See for yourself." He leaned back on the bunk and said, "I don't mind these snatch and grabs, but give me a stand up fight any day. Walking around, waiting for someone to get itchy and catch you up in a cross-fire gets your nerves kinda jumpy." He'd brought a musset bag with him and he toed it and it clinked. "I stole a few bottles of your Captains beer. He's a pretty good sort. I like that that in a CO. The Colonel does that, depending on the Op, sometimes."

Even though Andrew said there wasn't any damage to him, she did check for herself. Her fingers moved with certainty, as if she'd done this before.

The touch, once she confirmed what Andrew said, changed to more teasing and playful as Amy ran her fingers across his back. A soft smile appearing.

The clinking sound from the bag, Amy's eyes went from him to it, then back. Her hands drifting away.

"Yes he does make certain there is the real stuff. at times the synthehol doesn't cut it especially for the flavor." a look of disgust crossed her features. "I can tell the difference."

His skin had shivered slightly under his touch and he could feel the warm from her fingertips lingering. Whether real or imagined, he didn't care. Bending, Andrew opened the bag and pulled out one of the still mostly cold beers and an opener. Popping the top, he offered it to her looking her over slowly before he smiled, "Yeah. Nothing like the real thing. That goes for most everything. No matter how good they dial in the replicators, you can usually tell. Though us marines aren't supposed to be picky."

A quiet laugh. "What, Marines are just lean, mean, fighting machines? As what people have said and think. Not me, I am finding that they have their own layers and they can choose to be picky on what they drink." Amy taking the beer that was offered.

She took a long drink stopping when it hit the half way mark, feeling the coolness of the liquid going down Lowering the bottle, "Thank you."

There was much else she wanted to say, to maybe discuss, but, how to start a discussion. And should she even ask. He's got his own things with the Pioneer. And with their chosen professional paths could she even ask him to keep in touch?

Amy decided to shut that off right now, she was here with Andrew, and that was important.

Andrew watched her for a minute as she seemed to get lost in thought, then reached out and took the bottle from her and took a drink of his own. "Figured we could share," he said with a smile. "Speaking of, what's on your mind other than me?"

A soft laugh escaped Amy. "Am I that transparent where you're concerned?" she asked, smiling at him, an inviting warmth touched with a teasing twinkle in her eyes.

"I do need to solve a little mystery. Did you hear music last night? I heard music... well, someone saying something."

Just then, a few distant notes drifted through the room. The silvery, ethereal opening of Dream Weaver seemed to materialize from nowhere, filling the quiet. Amy's eyebrows lifted as she glanced around, searching for the source.

Andrew leaned an ear closer to her chest, giving her a mischievous grin. "Could be angels singing..." Then his eyes tracked to her shoulder and he gently turned her slightly and moved his ear to her shoulder and said, "Sounds like under your tunic on your shoulder...I don't remember anything there before." He commented, wondering just how hard she'd hit him if he started taking her tunic off to explore.

She didn't fight him taking her tunic off, Amy actually assisted Andrew in doing so.

The song came out more, the words of Dream Weaver now unmuffled,"

"What in the world?" she gasped out. "What is going on?"

Tracing the tattoo in light circles with his fingertips, Andrew said "Nice tat. Where did you get it...kinda reminds me of the one the Colonel used to have. Though that one was neon and flashed an advertisement." She had nice skin he thought as he continued to teasingly trace the tatoo outline.

His touch made Amy pause in her thinking, just enjoying the caress, the music though brought her to the present.,

"Tremble had a tattoo? And no way, I don't remember getting a tattoo or even having gotten drunk to go get one." She went to move from off the bed to get a hand mirror, to look at her shoulder where Andrew had been touching.

"Lets see what it looks like."

"Sword wrapped in a rose, from my look at it,"remarked Andrew as he watched her. "Must have been a good night out if you don't even remember getting that drunk."

"Well you have a point there but the last time I got drunk I was with Katya, Rhu, and went on a joy ride on a antigrav sled." she said, the words coming out before Amy could stop them.

She looked sharply at Andrew, then chuckled. "That was... something else."

Andrew slipped to his feet and slipped his arms around her as she stood in front of the mirror, the hand mirror held at an angle so she could look at it in reflection. He kissed above the tatto and grinned. "Kinky," he teased. "With your op's officer and Captain no less."

His kiss above the tattoo sent tingles through her, Amy leaned her head back against his chest, the hand holding the mirror reaching out to place it upon the nearby shelf.

Amy gave a laugh at his comment. turning around to look up into his eyes. her own arms encircling him.

"It was a little bit wild, I don't think they were prepared for my taking a joyride with the anti gravsled." her smile made her eyes crinkle up, amusement dancing in them.

He leaned down to kiss her then and grinned after, "Wild huh. I kinda get that." Then he kissed her again.
