Mission: Operation Kakori
Location: Captain's Ready Room /USS Valiant
Timeline: MD 04 2100/Tail end of Operation Kalkori

Edmund went looking for the chief of intelligence of the Valiant. He found her, in the mess hall sitting at the table, drinking a cup of something. When he drew near to her, he caught the scent of hot chocolate.

"Uh hi Lieutenant Gordon, may I have a moment of your time." he stated his voice hoarse.

Amy was surprised to see the Major approach her.

"Sure, have a seat. What can I do for you?" the dark haired woman motioned to the seat across from her.

Edmund took a seat across from Amy, “Would you get in touch with your CO and have a meeting with me, and the same thing for your XO, and figure out a place for me to meet with you along with Tyree, Ral, and I'll get Jayna and Tremble. I've got a piece of information that could be valuable, or you may have information that can answer some questions."

An eyebrow raised as to the major's request, Amy tapped on her combadge, "Commanders Tyree, and Ral, the major from the USS Pioneer is requesting a meeting. Is there a suggested place where the meeting can take place?"

While Amy was contacting her CO, Edmund contacted Jayna asking her to meet him in the mess hall, and the same for Tremble.

Jayna was with Neil when they got the message. She raised an eyebrow and looked at her husband. "Be there shortly."

Daynah sat in the center chair of the Bridge when the message from Gordon came through. She wondered what the Major knew that SFI did not. That fact alone got her to her feet. She tapped her comm badge. "Meet in the Captain's Ready Room. Ral out." Daynah turned the Bridge over to the officer of the watch and left. A moment later she stepped into the Ready Room and found Rhu seated behind his desk. Her look spoke volumes as the two exchanged a glance. Her’s spoke of her wonder as to what the hell this was about.

"It seems that we're to meet in the CO's ready room. If you'll follow me." Amy rose from the table, she noticed the arrival of Jayna and Tremble. "We're heading for Tyree's ready room."

Edmund rose as well, with a bit of a grunt, following Amy's lead. As they walked Edmund held the image carefully in his hand, as if it were precious.

The door to the ready room opened with Amy stepping inside and moving for Edmund to come inside as well.

Jayna followed Neil into the room, curious to learn what called them all together. She nodded to the others and then took a seat.

His voice raspy, the level was soft but not too soft to where the others couldn't hear. Edmund hadn't sat down, instead he walked over and placed the image of the woman he fought, onto Rhu's desk.

"This is an image of the Cardassian woman that we encountered when retrieving Quaid. She is well trained, made to be a weapon. I don't know her name and seriously there wasn't any reason to ask her." the corner of his mouth twitched. Edmund desiring to just toss in a slight amount of humor. The feeling left though.

"Do any of you know about a Cardassian woman who moves like a wraith. Is anyone familiar with said woman?" Edmund's hand drifting upwards to rub at his throat.

Neil wedged himself into a corner, being careful not to knock any of Rhu's dunnage from their shelves, though his contact did pick up energy patterns indicating the shelves had gravity attraction fields in place. "Kinda sounds like an old girlfriend," Neil said deadpan.

More seriously, Neil said "Doesn't sound familiar from any of the targets of opportunity lists I've seen."

Edmund chuckled well it was sort of a hoarse laugh then winced, it hurt.

"How about you, Commander Tyree, or you, Commander Ral?" Edmund picking up the image for the others passing it around to them have a look at it.

Amy took a look at it and shook her head, "I've not seen her before."

Handing the image to Jayna, "how about you?" the intel officer, wondering if the woman had seen her.

Jayna looked at the drawing. "This is very good," she said to Edmund. "I haven't seen her, but...There's something..." She looked at it for several moments. The face wasn't familiar, but something Edmund said triggered a memory. Something she'd seen in a report. "There's a woman... A Cardassian assassin known as the Wraith. Or the Obsidian Wraith. She's an assassin, but no one has lived long enough to give a description." She held up the picture. "Or draw her image."

Daynah had looked toward Rhu and spoke. "The Obsidian Wraith. I saw the file on her in the ship's computer. SFI has been looking for her for some time. It is said that she is one of the top operatives for what is left of the Obsidian Order. There is no official image of the Cardassian Wraith. So, this could be anyone. But, if it is here the question would be why was she there and more importantly why did she let you live?"

"That is a good point to bring up, unless she thought I was dying, or already dead. There was a lot going on." he scratched his jaw as he considered things.

Lowering his hand Edmund gave a shrug. "I feel it a miracle that I am alive. Thanks to whomever had brought me back to the Valiant. And quite frankly. I thought I was a goner."

"It's also possible something--or someone--made her leave before she confirmed that you were dead," Jayna added. She also wanted to know what she was doing on Breyet Nor. Assassins didn't leave witnesses. Not the good ones.

Daynah smiled inwardly as she finally had a moment to say something she had wanted to say since being assigned to Intelligence. "I am a scientist, not a spy. So, do either of you think it worth forwarding this drawing up the chain. Like I said, Intel does not have a name nor a face for the Wraith." She addressed Rhu and Jayna with her statements.

Rhu had kept his peace for most of the meeting, wanting to see how the others developed this line of thought. Finally, he said, "We don't. But I'll almost guarantee somewhere in the Union someone knows. It's nearly impossible to expunge all those records, even for the Order and we can start pulling some threads. An assassin is an offensive weapon, so I doubt she spends a lot of time holed up on that station. Maybe that data we pulled will have some bread-crumbs leading back to anything she's had a hand in, which widens the field for identifying her."

Neil folded his arms and said, "All of the old members of the Order and many of the senior members of the Guard who went into hiding are listed as Targets of Opportunity. That's kind of a blank check, capture if you can but..."

A tight grin touched Rhu's lips as he said, "A certain Admiral used the words: Render harmless by any means practicable. Send the drawing up and facial recognition might get someplace. And it can't hurt."

"Leaving no stone unturned, is something that is most important. Someone, somewhere, could recognize this person and make a connection." Amy stated.

Edmund at that point spoke, he remembered the woman's words she had breathed into his ear as the darkness then was swallowing him up, and his breath was fading.

"From what you had been speaking of. it might seem she wasn't a good assassin, an observation from me, even the best trained assassin, or even a skilled fighter, can make a mistake. Maybe there could have been some hubris on their part. Or for that matter, there could have what sounded like indication of the dying breath. Also, there could have been the realization that the odds were stacked against them. Being satisfied that the job was done she must have made her escape." he coughed slightly, covering his mouth to muffle it, then lowered his hand once more to speak.

"She was no slouch, nor did she seem to be one who would leave a job undone, unless she was sure of her kill. Being on the receiving end, oh she made her skills known." Edmund stopped there.

Daynah nodded in response to Rhupert. She took the drawing. "I will make sure that the Admiral receives this."

Having listened to the Major's brief account of his encounter. Amy's lips had thinned into a grim line. She watched as the image was passed to Rhu. She agreed with Rhu's decision as per the image of the Cardassian woman, her mouth curved up slightly for the direction from Rhu to send it up the line.

"If the Obsidian Wraith has gone this long without being seen, I doubt she made a mistake out of hubris," Jayna said to Edmund. "She may have felt an urgency to get away before more people came to your rescue. Believing you dead, she may have slipped off before others could see her."

Edmund gave a slight nod and raised an eyebrow in acknowledgment of what Jayna had said.

He settled against the wall, his wrist giving out a painful reminder of its injury. He didn't allow it to come to the surface. There wasn't much else he could add to this meeting, he gave the information, and now it was for others to do what they decided to do.

Now what he wanted was to go get something to eat, and rest.

"Thank you for meeting with me." Edmund looking around at those there.

"Thanks for reading us in," Jayna replied. "This both explains and complicates things. But it may prove efficacious."

Neil looked over Ed and said, "You look like you've been pulled through a keyhole, Ed. Go get some rest. There's a mountain of intel for the analysts to get through, but you brought everyone back alive. Good job. You me and Lachlan are going to debrief, but that can wait till you get food. I'll start be running those with Ms. Gordon, if you can spare her, Captain," this last, addressed to Tyree.

"Fine by me. That data needs sorting, but the Pioneers can get a jump on that. Amy, you know the drill I'm sure." Rhu said as he turned to Dayna, "Number one. I'll leave you liaise with our guests. I want the Klingon and Quaid under full guard and they can both cool their heels in the brig till I decide otherwise. If you care to sit in on the debriefs with the Colonel and Amy, feel free. It might interest you. I want to get a look at the raw data from the station, but I'll do that on the bridge while we're easing our way out of the badlands."

Turning to Ed, Rhu said, "I'll second the Colonel's good job, Major. Please pass that along."

Rhu walked through the hatch and headed toward the bridge, feeling glad that the hard part was over. Now he just had to make sure they didn't run into a bad plasma storm or an Order warship as they picked their way out of the Badlands.

Neil looked at the rest and said, "This Wraith might be an important piece to the puzzle, but the Order and their cronies are the bigger picture. Lieutenant Gordon, let’s start the after-actions when you're ready. Perhaps we can use the now empty shuttle bay?"

Edmund nodded towards Neil, then stepped outside of Rhu's office, rest and something to eat? His next task.

She watched the exit of Rhu , then the major before she turned her attention to Tremble. "I am at your disposal, Colonel." Amy responded, her gaze speaking volumes of questions and wanting to go over the date. "If you are ready to do so now, it can happen. If you need an hour or so. Then it can be done then."

"Do you want me to stay?" Jayna asked Neil. She was willing to be part of the conversation, but she'd also leave it to Neil and Amy if he preferred.

Musing, Neil said, "You can go first, then as liaison, you can hang out but not participate in questioning, just to make sure we don't contaminate anyone's version of events. I'd have the Major sit in, but he apparently ran afoul of yet another female so we three can handle and then construct what happened."

She couldn't help smiling at the thought of another t-shirt in the Cure's gift shop based on the major's...adventures. "I'll be happy to do that," Jayna replied with a grin.

Daynah was on Rhu's heels as he left. "Quaid is in Sick Bay at the moment under guard. Once the Doctor clears him I will have him moved to the Brig." She said as she fell in step with him.

"Isolation mode," Rhu told Dayna. "Let him stew in his own juices until transferred to the Pioneer's Intel. Minimum contact. Maybe pipe in Romulan chamber music. Which reminds me, check on Galen."
