Mission:
Shore Leave: Earth
Location: Sol Station, Day Room 86
Timeline: Shore Leave Day One
Levori blinked at the onslaught and stopped herself from taking a step back as the Valiants arrived en masse. Glancing at the Andorian and human helms-woman, she made sure to keep on of her father's favorite sayings from leaking:
~Great space, not that wooly,` in regards to an ancient earthen mastodon and some people's general behavior.
Smiling, she said, "Welcome Valiants," she eased as much enthusiasm into the words as she could as she could. "I am Cadet Levori."Setting her shoulders, she looked at...Nyx was her name and said, "I am nervous, Ensign. Shuttle racing I'm not sure of but there is a solar sailing competition being hosted by the Jovians that will start tomorrow. It's their Regatta of the Purple season and they're expecting nearly two thousand ships. A great many of them are short their allowable crew and most of them having a clothing optional rule aboard ships that, while frowned on by Sol system but, because it is contained to ships, they can't do anything about. That race circles the solar system for three days before the winners party at the end. Which is held on Europa minor. Betezoid is actually helping host that party, since the only clothing required is a mask."
~Great space, not that wooly,` in regards to an ancient earthen mastodon and some people's general behavior.
Turning, she said "Lieutenant Mira. Commanders Ral and Zuub. I am not sure what might interest you. There are several presentations going on at Fleet Medical and Science academy annexes. Most of those are geared around the arrival of the Tholians in ten days time. Admiral Th’keliss arranged for invites for any classes you may want to sit in on, attend or even lecture on while you're here."
She paused slightly looking at the Andorian Doctor apprehensively and said, "He suggested you might enjoy representing Andoria at a Federation Medical Council charity event taking place five days from now."
"Commander Ral," she said turning. "Captain Tyree suggested your name to join the Admiral while attending the Presidential commissioning of the USS Okun, a new Nova class being launched in three days. Then the group will be dropped off by the Okun on Jupiter station for a personal briefing about the Voyager Six probe and ties to the Borg collective that has been brought forward recently from a variety of sources from, beginning here in Sol sector and reaching out to the Romulan expanse of space. It does sound fascinating."
"Lieutenant Mira, all the Captain would tell me that you might enjoy...I'm not positive I'd agree." Studying the woman for a few seconds, she said "Actually, Colonel Tremble said he could arrange his mother to take you to see anything that might interest you on Earth. Or, there are opportunities to take in various ropes courses with the Marines on Mars. I understand the Vallis Marineris trench course is particularly grueling, with a three or four day..." She searched her memory before saying, "Roughing it? by verticle camping as you either ascend or descend the four thousand kilometer trench."
Jayde didn't particularly want to meet Neal's mother. But the others could be interesting. "The ropes course sounds worth a look. My sister and I both like ropes courses, and that one sounds like a decent challenge. Or the Vallis Marineris trench." She almost wished her sister could go there with her.
Amy arrived and on her heels was Luna Barto.
The security officer felt this was as good a time as any to make herself known, and also to partake of some goodies as well.
"Oh this lookd magnificent, my compliments to the one who set this up." Luna remarked, before heading over towards where Jayde was.
"Hello, Lieutenant Mira. Pleasure to see you." Luna giving a bit of a smile.
Jayde nodded a greeting to Luna.
Amy though she took a look at who was there, spotting Daynah she walked over to the bar and sat upon a nearby stool.
"Commander," Amy's voice pleasant and ordered a whisky neat. "How are you doing?"
The talk of the invite brought Daynah's attention. Now that was something she would enjoy, she could practically kiss Rhu for this. "I am doing well now, Amy. Yourself?" She said with a smile. This smile was a genuine one, a smile that reached into her eyes.
"I'm doing alright, finding my footing." Amy answered, after getting her drink and taking a sip of it,
She looked down at the drink then looked back towards Daynah.
"Commander, I would like to apologize for something. I've not come to talk to you ever since you had rescued me from where you had first encountered me."
Daynah, smile remained although it softened as she held her hand out. "Amy there is no need to give thanks, or anything of the sort. It was my pleasure. I mean someone has to look out for you motley bunch or you are going to get yourselves killed."
A a drink from her glass, a twinkle in her eyes Amy responded, with a nod.
"I suppose that we are a motley crew. A fine bunch of rapscallions, a team I hadn't thought I'd actually come into. Makes one not feel so alone." lifting her glass to her lips once more.
More often than not, she had her fair share of working alone.
Jayden walked in feeling a little insecure of being back on the valiant and being tossed into a shore leave. He felt like he just came out of one. He looked around the room as he felt like everyone was looking at him. He put his arms behind his back and straightened his back. "Hello...everyone...I am back. And for those who don't know me...Lieutenant Commander Jayden Meran."
Jayde turned her attention to the counselor for a moment. She didn't have a problem with counselors in general, but after coming off her assignment on Breyet Nor, she didn't want to talk to one. So she took her food and sat down. Alone.
Levori smiled at the counselor and said, "Greetings Commander Meran. The Ambassador sends his regards. As I mentioned to the others, I wasn't sure what might interest you for shore leave. There are various events and lectures at Fleet Medical which I mentioned to Dr. Zuub and Commander Ral. A charitable fund raising event in five days time. If you have specific interests please let me know."
Jayden looked over to Commander Zuub and Commander Ral a moment before turning back to Levori. "So fleet medical is hosting various events and lectures. Do you have a list of these events and lectures?"He requested as he looked at the cadet.
Zuub's antennae swung over to Meran, and wobbled unsteadily. "You can obtain them on your PADD," she replied in her soft wispy voice. "I doubt many of them will be of interest to myself. Ensign Calder will likely prove more interesting than anything in those stuffy sessions."
Ruby practically bounced on her feet as she entered the room and looked around. "Wow," she said, smiling at everyone. "This looks great!"
Jayden heard Zuub speaking and turned to him. "Doctor Zuub, with respect, I was speaking with the cadet here. She has kindly offered to help, I am merely taking her up on her offer. I think we higher ranking officers should do our part in the training and education of these young minds. Also I wasn't interested to know if you were interested in these activities. If I am, I will let you know." He then turned to Levori again taking out a padd. "Perhaps you can show me what kind of activities there are, Cadet. Do you also know if Lieutenant Commander Layla O'Donnaghue-Meran or Commodore Chelsea O'Donnaghue-Meran have any lectures this time."He knew both his aunt and his mother were frequently invited to events like this and if he was able he would attend them. He always liked the lectures of his aunt. They were always quite fun and informative.
Luna gave a smile in return to Jayde, she was also looking for where Mishka was.
"Have you met Mishka, one of the other security officers, here?"
Her eyes also drifted over to where Ruby had come in, "Hi there Ruby!" giving a wave of greeting to her.
"Yes," Jayde replied with a raised eyebrow. "I have." It was a small ship, and Mishka was in her department.
Ruby grinned and waved back at Luna. But her attention was more on getting some food right now. And staying away from any potential drama.
Zuub's antennae started towards the back of her head, as she heard Meran lecture her over what obviously was a misunderstanding. There certainly was no necessity for that sort of sharp language. The Andorian considered what sort of slightly unpleasant but ethical concoctions she could give to Meran the next time she ended up in her sickbay.
Amy's eyes drifted towards where Jayden had come in, looking rather perplexed at his arrival. The last time she had seen him was when they were at the Never Winter Club, and he had taken an abrupt leave.
Turning her gaze back to Daynah. Amy said, "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to have lunch with you sometime, unless you'd like to tell me to not stick my nose in your business." giving a little bit of a chuckle as she spoke.
"We can have lunch. I am not sure what business you want to stick your nose into though." Daynah responded as she realized that with all they had been through recently she had not made time to get to know the crew. She had read files, but had not made any strides to making friends and the such.
"it is more my asking what you like to do etcetera." Amy answered."We can talk about that later on for now." she turned towards where the others are at. "We can enjoy our drink."
Looking rather puzzled as to the demeanor of this newcomer, Luna gave a bit of a frown. She pulled out her padd, to check as to who he was. An eyebrow raising at what she found.
Lieutenant Commander Jayden Meran? Chief Counselor? She's not met him before, he hadn't been around when she had first come onboard the Valiant
What was his deal? Luna went to get some snacks as she continued her thoughts.
The last Counselor she had come across, was more diplomatic than this one. Luna mused to herself, she was going to keep an eye on this one.
Levori glanced between the medical doctors and consulted her PADD. "Yes, Commander Meren. Both have lectures staggered over the next couple of weeks, and they of course have various events they'll be attending. I did not volunteer that you would be available, but if you like I can reach out to help set up time in their schedules." She promoted a warm, helpful mental appearance to her surface thoughts while burying the deep thought at wondering about scheduling time with relatives rather than just bursting in on them.
Some people didn't like surprises.
To avoid further disagreements, she said brightly, "So. Please avail yourself of the treats and I am here to be as helpful as I can. I am very much looking forward to working with you all over the next weeks," Levori said, continuing to broadcast positive feelings.
"Thank you and I am quite happy about what you have put together." Luna deciding to answer Levori, getting a few more goodies upon her plate.
Her curiosity getting the better of her, maybe. "Commander Meran, out of curiosity. How are things with you? Its been awhile since you've been around." Amy giving a bit of a smile. "Where have you been?"
Jayden gave a nod to Lecori and then turned to Amy. "Yes it has, I was on sabbatical of sorts. Taking a little respite from all the hustle and bustle you might say. I am back now and I am doing quite well." He followed the others a bit and filled a plate with snacks too. "How have you been, Lieutenant? Anything new to report?"
Jayde grabbed a snack and sat down to watch the interactions around her. This posting might be more interesting than she first thought.
"Oh we've had some really good interactions. Having movie nights and also dinners together, its been a really good way for us to come together as a crew, and maybe in some aspect, starting to be a motley family?" Amy having a twinkle in her eyes, as she answered.
Luna had gotten her snacks and proceeded to find herself a seat, then she paused, instead she moved over to where Levori stood, "Out of curiosity, where are you from?"
"Betezoid," Levori said with a smile. Glancing around, she said. "Please help yourself to more of the treats that the Betezoid mission made available and we can get your itineraries set so you can make the most of your leave."
Jayde closed her eyes for a moment and sighed. Levori sounded like an event director from a galactic cruise line. She just hoped this was going to be worth it.
Jayden nodded to Amy. "Movie nights and dinners, I missed quite a bit I see. I will have to make sure I will attend the next event."
