Mission:
On the Trail
Location: Avan's Colony, Quatral Prime.
Timeline: Same time as (D) for Diagnosis.
On Avan’s colony, Amy(Smith)’s comm badge chirped, then her earbud(?) activated.
“Crevins to Smith. I need you to get into the colony's system. Put in a secret back door into their computer and comms. First order of business, prepare to erase the arrival of a transport, likely a shuttle, that is coming in to beam me out and drop off another member of our crew, who will assume my caretaker duties aboard Adelaide.”
Tapping on her earbud, Amy answered. "Okay sound good, when is the arrival?" Looking over towards Aria motioning for her to follow away from where the others were dealing with the examinations of the bodies.
Medical was too small for them to be hanging around, and both Daynah and Zuub really didn't need anyone else there to break concentration.
"Unknown, but likely no more than three hours," Crevins (Rhu) responded. "The home office always waits till the last moment."
Aria followed Amy. "What you got in mind?" She asked simply as she crossed her arms.
"Understood, and you are right. We're on it. "
Amy turned to Aria. "You and I need to go check on the computers but away from prying eyes. Something isn't tracking right, and need to find out what is hidden." moving to find an area where they could locate a spot. "Where shall we go?"pulling out her tricorder to see if she can pinpoint a place to connect.
"Scan for a computer terminal with may have access to their main computer." Aria said. "Ideally we'll need somewhere 'out of the way'. Somewhere we are less likely to run into someone."
Amy nodded as she looked at the blue prints that had been pulled up moving even further away from where there waas more hustle and bustle. Not only did she follow the blueprint, she also took heed as to the way the 'hallways' were looking. Her first footsteps echoed loudly in the corridor both she and Aria were traversing, which made her wince. Her footsteps became silent like that of a cat as they continued on. First a right then with the hall branching out, to either the left or the right. Looking at the floor in front of them, Amy looked to see if there was a light coating of dust upon the floor. Then again with where they were at, the mining there would be dust on the floors.
One way had the signs of a path less traveled. That was to the left. To the right there was signs of being more traveled.
"We go left, and mind you stay near the wall, so as to not disturb the dust that is in the center." Amy commented, doing as what she had mentioned to Aria, sticking close to the wall.
Amy paused in her thoughts, here she was treating Aria like some greenie, when probably wasn't. Old habit died hard.
She looked towards Aria. "Do you know how to pick locks?" as they came up to the first door to the left aways down the hall. Amy reached out to test the door, to see if it were unlocked or not. It was locked. She did know how to pick locks but, did Aria?
Giving a shrug, Amy pulled out her lock pick set, in order to utilize it. She was pleased that the door wasn't the normal electric lock with conntration, she could hear the release mechanism go click. She opened the door and motioned for Aria to follow her inside. Once both of them were inside.
"Okay lets get to work."
Amy smiling, walking over to where she could activate the computers and begin her work.
Aria walked over to the computer console as well. She scanned it with her tricorder. "Their security should be easy to bypass. Its not exactly at Starfleet level." She said as she crouched down and popped off the front panel. Slowly she slid out two of the isolinear rods, and then slotted them back into different slots. "All yours." She smiled.
"Thank you." Amy responded at first, as she fired up the computer console in order to do as what Rhupert had requested. Something scrawled across the screen she wasn't certain what it was, she felt a quick ping, a feeling of worry shoot through her. "Aria switch the isolinear rods back to where they were originally!" she urged.
Aria pulled the rods out amd quickly slotted them back to where they were originally. "I'm guessing that didn't work..." she sighed.
Amy worked to route a new path, the scrawl disappearing. She didn't have a chance to get a copy of whatever it was. The script just flashed up it wasn't something that she felt was normal. Data she needed data, and plant that backdoor. Frowning Amy decided to go to another work station, firing it up. So far so good it was operating normally. She cast a glance over her shoulder towards Aria. "How is it going?"
Aria had returned to the door, mainly to keep a look out. They didn't want to be discovered, especially simce they were essentially breaking into the computers. "All clear so far. Keep going..."
Turning back to her work, Amy proceeded to enter in her own program, as well as downloading data as to what this colony was about. Her fingers worked skillfully, as she placed in the codes. As she connected with the data, and set things in motion for gaining the information, Amy cast her eyes around the room, there just was something off here. Sure it had the markings of Cardassia here but there was something else. She didn't know if it were a trick of the dim light that was in this room, but there was something etched into the wall, in an out of the way place. She had to get a closer look. Letting the data stream download, Amy investigated what caught her attention.
What she found made Amy's blood turn cold, causing her to shiver slightly. She had reached out to clear some of the encrusted dirt that was there. There it was, a marking that she knew. It was that of the Maquis, well make that the new Maquis. Her mind flashing back to the prison colony she had been on, Vinderous III. Dirtying up the marking once more to cover it, Amy went back to the computer she had been working on, checking on the data. It was done downloading. She finished up making the requested back door for Rhu, and turned to Aria. It was time to go.
Aria knew that look, it didn't need explaining. She nodded in response acknowledging that it was time to leave. She quickly checked the adjoining corridor before leading the way out. She looked at Amy briefly, she didn't know what she had found, but from the expression on her face she could only ponder that it wasn't good.
